Connect ChatGPT Web
Use an eligible ChatGPT workspace to connect through Rigbolt Cloud to your paired Mac. Your projects and execution remain local.
Product documentation · Rigbolt v0.1.1 · Updated October 2026
Before you begin
Rigbolt is installed and running on the Mac. You have added a project in Projects Only mode or chosen a narrower access scope appropriate to your work.
Web-based ChatGPT cannot reach a local stdio server directly. Rigbolt uses an authenticated, public HTTPS Cloud endpoint to relay requests to your Mac.
Availability of custom MCP apps, write-capable tools and Developer Mode depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace permissions.
Pair Rigbolt Cloud
- Open Rigbolt on your Mac.
- Go to Settings → Connections & Remote.
- Choose the managed Rigbolt Cloud connection, and complete the browser-based pairing/authorization if prompted.
- Return to Rigbolt and confirm the Cloud/device state says connected. Keep Rigbolt and your Mac running.
Add Rigbolt in ChatGPT
- In a ChatGPT workspace that exposes Developer Mode/custom MCP apps, enable Developer Mode if your workspace allows it.
- Create a new custom MCP app/connection, name it Rigbolt, and supply the public MCP endpoint.
- Follow the OAuth authorization flow; if the browser asks for one-time local proof, choose Open Rigbolt and return to the browser.
- Review the permissions, enable the connection for your conversation, and start with a read-only project inspection.

Verify the connection
Ask the assistant to list Rigbolt's accessible project roots and inspect your test project's README without editing files.
Look at Rigbolt → Live Sessions on your Mac: a successful tool call should appear with a result. If the tool is unavailable, check your plan, the selected connection and Cloud pairing.
